International Freelancers Day, September 24, 2010
I’m very excited about tomorrow. It’s International Freelancers Day, an online conference exclusively for, well, freelancers. In fact, International Freelancers Day offers so many sessions they won’t all fit into just one day. I’m especially looking forward to a session called “Workday Nirvana” (a place I dream of reaching … someday).
I suspect lots of other freelancers are in the same boat I’m in: We struck out on our own because we knew we had a valuable service to offer, but before we started a business we never thought much about marketing, networking, or landing clients. Hey, I’m a word nerd, not a business whiz, but after a year of full-time freelancing I’m ready to get serious about the business part of my business. I expect the speakers of International Freelancers Day will inspire me, give me some new ideas and, perhaps most importantly, remind that I’m not the only solo worker toiling away in a tiny office with only my pets as coworkers.
If you’re a freelancer who’s ready to learn and grow, check out International Freelancers Day. It’s free, but you must register to attend.
